Shadow credit scores and whether you get an apartment

The Fair Credit Reporting Aact ruling is that if a database results in a denial of a credit-related service, they have to tell you why. But there are apparently loopholes. There are special databases used by landlords to decide whether to rent to you.

In 2008, Scott McCloud prepared a comic illustrating a host of substantial improvements to the Chrome browser (such as running each tab in a separate process).

Covid vaccines are patented. There has been talk of "vaccine patent waivers", but these have not materialized. Here's an article on the status of the waivers process: www.cnbc.com/2021/04/22/covid-rich-countries-are-refusing-to-waive-ip-rights-on-vaccines.html.

The existing WTO framework has a "compulsory license" process for vaccine licenses. But prospective vaccine makers have to find all the patents that need to be licensed for a drug, and this can be daunting. Also, pharmaceutical companies can object.
